Any college student will tell you that studying is difficult. So imagine how much more difficult it would be for a working student whose time and attention is divided between school and his job.
This is the story of Dahn Saliendra who is set to march this March 25, 2018. In a viral Facebook post by him, Dahn shared how it took him six years to be able to graduate.
In the picture that he posted along with his incredible story, Dahn can be seen smiling with a broom in hand. He decided to include the cleaning tool in his graduation picture because it was beside him throughout his journey.
“Noong una ay nahihiya pang humawak ng walis. Ngunit sa anim na taon ba namang pagsasama pati sa pictorial, aba’y akin nang isinama sapagkat kasama sya sa pagpupugay na ito.“
Dahn shared some familiar lines he has heard from his classmates in the six years he was a student. Because he was still on duty, people often wondered where he was during the after-class activities.
“kuya san ka na? Tatanggalin ka na namin sa grupo kapag di ka nakapraktis”
“may meeting tayo sa group reporting san ka na? Eto part mo”
“ubra na tayo ng thesis san ka na?“
The man has also encountered a number of people asking him if when he is going to graduate.
“2014- third year ka na edi gagraduate na next yr?”
“2015- graduating ka na diba?” third year ka last year eh.”
“2016-ngayon ka pa lang pala nag third year? So gagraduate ka na next year?”
“2017- kelan ka gagraduate?”
“2018- GRADUATING NA AKO! ANNOUNCE KO NA.“
But now, Dahn has reached his dream through hard work and perseverance. The college student has encouraged those who have the same path as him to continue and never give up because they will surely graduate if only they persevere.
