The Kween of Twitter: Ethel Booba answers the Bb. Pilipinas questions

It’s easy to think that Ethel Booba would have nothing to contribute regarding the national discussion about our government. But the comedienne has since surprised us, proving that underneath that hard, silly exterior is a smart woman whose opinions definitely deserve to be heard. Ever since President Rodrigo Duterte started his term, Ethel has been constantly producing witty tweets that have won over the Filipinos.

1.2 million Twitter users have followed Ethel for the substantial commentaries she produces. But it turns out that her wit isn’t only limited to government issues. The Bb. Pilipinas pageant was made even more fun by Ethel’s involvement.

Her followers challenged her to answer the hard-hitting questions asked by the pageant’s judges to see how well she would fare. Ethel was more than ready to take them on and her clever responses will make you fall in love with her.

First up was the question that doomed Sandra Lemonon from ever getting a crown, “What is your insight on [the] government’s ‘Build Build Build’ program?”

Ethel answered:

I hope they include all the imburnals so that no more kids like Aling Vicky’s will fall prey to those open sewers ever again. Charot!

The comedienne also gave a wonderful answer to Alyssa Valdez‘s trap question: “If inner beauty is emphasized in beauty pageants, then why are there physical requirements upon joining it?”

And our personal favorite was her answer to the question: “When is the right time to listen and when is the right time to speak?” Ethel answered it with a subtle jab against a certain celebrity-turned-politician accused of championing fake news.
