Being a single mother is no easy feat. Imagine what Aiko Melendez and the single moms of the world have endured all this time. Single parents have to work twice as hard to give their children the love and care they deserve. Yet the 42-year-old actress was able to prove us that she could have fortune, fame, and family right managed properly.
Just like any doting mother would do, Aiko took to Instagram to share her children’s feat to her followers on March 26.
In the caption, she reflected on her role as a single mother:
“Being a single mom is so hard… But i have no regrets, I am blessed to have kids like them who are achievers! 2 straight days of victories!”
Aiko’s son with Jomari Yllana, Andre, placed third out of 83 competitors in a drag race competition while her daughter, Marthena Jickain, just graduated from elementary.
On March 25, the actress wrote:
“Congratulations son! First race and you finished 3rd already out of 83 competitors! I am so proud of how far you’ve reached today! Remember that your sister and I will never get tired supporting and be watching you till you finish top!”
She likewise left a heartfelt message to her equally beautiful daughter on March 26.
“You are blessed to be in a great school, not only did it mold you, of how you are today, But to never stop aiming for your dreams. As you enter grade 7 they’ll be a lot of challenges but pls know with all those, I am here for you All the way!”
Congratulations to Andre and Marthena, and most especially to you, Aiko!
