Chito Miranda goes on and on about his wife Neri Naig being a ‘wais na misis.’ He brags about how well she handles their family’s finances, as well as how effectively she saves money for their future.
‘Wais misis’ Neri Naig herself, however, admits she wasn’t always good with handling money. As a matter of fact, she wasn’t really conscious about spending and saving in the past. However, she has learned her lessons in money and is now sharing to all of us her ‘wais’ strategies on how to effectively save money.
Neri Naig reveals: there wouldn’t be a ‘wais na misis’ if a ‘wais na mister’ hadn’t taught her first. Yes, apparently, with all the bragging Chito does of his wife, he was actually the one who taught Neri financial literacy:
“Tinuruan ako ni Chito kung paano mag handle ng pera. Kunware daw ay may P15,000 akong nakuhang sahod, yung P5,000 lang daw gastusin ko, isipin ko na yun lang ang pera ko the whole month. Itago ko yung P10,000. Or depende syempre sa talagang gastusin mo kada buwan. Basta i-budget mo lang yung gastusin sa bahay.”
“For example, kung ang sahod mo ay P20,000 tapos ang budget mo sa isang buwan ay P12,000, yung P8,000 itago mo na agad, i-banko, time deposit para di mo talaga magastos agad. Magugulat ka na lang sa ipon mo sa banko. Pwede ka ng bumili ng sariling kotse o bahay.”
Additionally, Neri reveals that living in the province truly helps someone conserve on finances:
“Buti na lang din at nakatira kami sa probinsya at wala pa masyadong malls dito, hehe! Dadayo ka pa para makapag mall. Bilang ako ay tamad lumabas at syempre maliligo pa, maghahanap pa ng susuotin, tapos mag aayos pa tapos ang layo pa ng pupuntahan, naku, manahimik na lang sa bahay, hehe! Makakatipid pa ako!”
