Tricycle driver allegedly assaulted in front of wife, kids in Taytay market

A recent road rage incident at a wet market in Taytay, Rizal resulted into an uproar among online users after they saw the unjust treatment to a tricycle driver, his wife, and their two children. According to the Facebook page “Master Henyo,” the squabble began when the tricycle driver allegedly double parked his vehicle which angered the passengers of the Toyota Hi-Ace van. The page narrated:

“Nagalit ang mga naka-van. Nagtalo at tinaob ang tricycle na may nakasakay na dalawang bata at binugbog ang tricycle driver. Si ate [na] nagvi-video na misis ng tricycle driver ay gusto ding sapakin ng mga naka-van na nasa video. Nagsisisigaw ang dalawang bata at umiiyak habang nakikitang pinagtutulungang bugbugin ang kanilang papa.”

In the video, the woman was screaming for help from the onlookers and calling those who were visibly assaulting her husband as animals. In another clip, the van was seen leaving the scene with the tricycle driver’s wife trying to comfort their wailing kids.

As of press time, the post has already garnered around 20,000 mixed reactions and a massive 101,420 shares on Facebook in less than 24 hours. Many social media users pitied the family for what they went through. One even noted that double parking is indeed an offense, but admitted that they didn’t deserve to be treated in such manner.
