As early as today, there’s already an influx of motivational graduation posts all over our Facebook timeline. From working students to zero-to-hero stories, we’ve all heard about college journeys of all sorts. Perhaps there is nothing, however, that could top Joyce-An Dela Rosa‘s account. To think that she became a mom at an early age, this inspirational woman still managed to finish as her class’ cum laude out of faith and determination—something that she thought women like her could use as she wrote about her story on Facebook.
While her post dates back to last year, Joyce-An’s story couldn’t be any more relevant than it is today.
Looking back on her college days, Joyce-An revealed that she stopped studying for two years when she unexpectedly became pregnant. It was the toughest part of her life, having to leave home and endure criticism from other people.
But, the fighter in herself pushed her to get back on her feet and start anew. When she finally learned to have faith and embrace her situation, that’s when everything started to fall into the right place.
For Joyce-An, it didn’t matter that she was left behind by her peers, for she believes that everyone has their own timeline.
“I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. I am living according to the pace of my clock.”
But she couldn’t have done it without the help of those who believed in her despite her situation—most especially her partner and her bundle of joy, who are her inspirations in everything that she does.
