This mother from Queensland, Australia is giving anti-vaxxers a lot to consider. See, no child should ever have to suffer so much from something as simple as chicken pox in this day and age.
Kayley Burke, a mother of two, learned this the hard way. What her eleven-month-old son experienced was truly horrible, but highly avoidable. There occurred something akin to an outbreak of chicken pox in the Burke household. Kayley and her elder child Kaliah both contracted it, but the one who suffered most was the baby, young Elijah. His photos are almost too painful to behold:

Now, Kayley wasn’t an anti-vaxxer. As a matter of fact, her daughter Kaliah was vaccinated, which is why she didn’t suffer as much as her baby brother (although of course, chicken pox is still plain nasty for children). Unfortunately, Elijah caught a strain of the pox before he was old enough to get vaccinated for it.
“Our poor baby boy who is too young to be immunised has caught the chickenpox. It has almost been a week since they showed up,” Kayley wrote on Facebok.
Indeed, Elijah looked too young to be covered with such awful-looking blisters.
“I’m very annoyed that he’s sick. I’m a strong believer in vaccinations and I’m sure if he was old enough to have the shot he wouldn’t be so sick,” Kayley told reporters.
Despite her feelings of helplessness, the mother still took her time to share a warning to anti-vaxxers. According to her, unvaccinated children are not only at risk themselves.
“Think about the risk you are putting on other helpless kids that are too young or who actually can’t be vaccinated,” the distraught mother said.
