Hashtag Nikko hits back against the discriminatory statement of PNP Chief bato

The Chief Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is in hot water after voicing his stance over tattoos. Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa this week released his unapologetic opinion about tattooed policemen saying they “look like criminals or ex-convicts” which immediately sparked a debate. As a result of this, Hashtag Nikko Seagal Natividad immediately hit back on this perceived discriminatory statement through his Instagram account.

Based on his statement, there’s no denying that Hashtag Nikko was affected, considering the fact that he has numerous noticeable tattoos on his body. According to him, he completely understands the police policy requirements. However, he was displeased when Chief Bato uttered the phrase “look like criminals or ex-convicts.”

In his defense, Chief Bato Dela Rosa further explained the reason why he issued this statement.

The PNP Chief simply wanted to maintain the tradition of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). He said that grooming standards within the police must be maintained – so they look professional and respectable.

“How much more kung maraming tattoo dito, baka sabihin criminal ba itong pulis na ‘to. So ngayon advice ko kung gusto niyo magpulis tanggalin niyo ‘yung tattoo niyo.”
