Elderly Pinay suffering from cancer verbally harassed by teens in Australia

All of us have experienced some form of bullying and/or discrimination in every little way. One of the worst forms of discrimination one can experience is racism – something this Filipina woman felt. The elderly lady was cursed and shouted at in a train by two teens in Melbourne, Australia.

66-year-old Mila has been living in Melbourne for over 33 years. She was going to meet a friend of hers who was sick. While on the train, two teenagers verbally attacked her with hurtful curses and racist slurs. As the Pinay recounted the incident, she was coughing when one of two teenagers seating opposite her was staring right at her. That is when the harassment began. They cursed and shouted her: “motherf*cking curry muncher”, “shut up, b**ch”, “go back to your own f**king country.”

The commotion was caught on cam by a certain Patricia Bonnar, who happened to be on the same train with Mila and the two harassing teens.

Patricia, at first, recorded the whole incident but simply couldn’t stand by while another human being was being verbally abused.

“We couldn’t sit back and do nothing. We moved up and sat next to Mila to support her until these feral girls got off the train,”

Although not seen in the video, she and her two friends Andree Maxwell and Suzie Piggot immediately sat beside Mila and accompanied her the rest of the ride until the two attackers alighted the train.

According to a report by News.com.au, Mila revealed that she was recovering from cancer which affected her kidneys. Patricia, who happened to be a cancer survivor herself, assisted Mila and filed a complaint against the two teens.

The Pinay shared her thoughts on the issue:

“I’m not worried about seeing them again. I just want them to know they can’t act like that. They have to stop doing it. That behavior is disgusting.”
