On April 4, a certain Augustine Salway caught the attention of many after he posted a photo of him wearing a toga while holding a fuel dispenser at a gasoline station in General Santos City. He explained that his reason for posting it online is to inspire others to be determined in pursuing their dreams in life.

Browsing his Facebook account, we found out that he is a Bachelor of Science in Customs Administrations student at Villamor College of Business and Arts (VCBA) in General Santos City.
Despite being financially unstable, the netizen shared that he did not allow poverty to hinder him on achieving his dreams in life. Determined on getting a college diploma, he worked as a gasoline boy which then fueled him to pay for his school’s tuition fee.
After six years of hard work, he is now reaping the fruits of his labor. By simply sharing his story of success on social media, he hopes to inspire others to also be persistent in achieving their dreams.
On another post, he wrote:
“Kung kinakailangan maligo sa putik, gawin natin, basta alam natin makakatulong ito sa atin.. ginawa ko ito para lahat tayo susulong, walang iwanan. Life is what we make it!”
