Leaving the high-paying showbiz industry can be a frightening experience because some celebrities might not be sure if they would become successful in the outside world. However, there are a lot of great and inspiring stories from former celebrities who found their success outside the spotlight. One of these stories is from former actress LJ Moreno who became a wife, a mother, and an entrepreneur after saying goodbye to her showbiz career.
LJ Moreno married Filipino basketball legend Jimmy Alapag back in 2010 and though she isn’t an active actress, her life is still as busy and productive as ever. Apart from her three beautiful children with Jimmy, the former actress has a different kind of baby which was formally launched back in 2011.
The “Lollicake Factory” was LJ’s accidental business that was caused by a craving she had. Her time in California introduced her to the amazing and delicious cake lollipops. These heavenly bite-sized round cakes dipped in chocolate brought some magic in LJ’s life that’s why she couldn’t forget them.
She tried to see if anyone in the country supplied these cake lollipops but there wasn’t anyone who did. This prompted her to search for a recipe in the internet and make them on her own. As soon as family and friends tasted how good her creations were, they started ordering from her and the rest is history.
Sadly, the success of her business was also filled with challenges and problems.
According to a report by PUSH, the former star said:
“Maybe yung siyempre trial and error siya. We tried out franchising. Medyo that didn’t work out. Medyo malaki din yung money loss kasiyou invest in the business and all that stuff on the commissary. Pero at that time, para sa akin it’s a lesson learned and I feel lucky pa rin and blessed kasi at least hindi namin inutang yung nawala. It was extra.”
LJ is truly enjoying the simpler life and the joy brought on by her passion and business.
