Meet the Garcia Brothers, the heroes of Marawi City

Ever since 1st Lieutenant Melvin Garcia, 1st Lieutenant Gerson Garcia, and 2nd Lieutenant Goerge Bernard Garcia collectively known as the Garcia Brothers swore to serve the country as soldiers, they seldom got a chance to spend their time with each other. These three brothers were very close but couldn’t find the chance to spend time with each other while the siege of Marawi City was on-going. Wars are perilous events and no one can be 100% safe in a battlefield.

Despite the severity of the situation, the Garcia Brothers managed to come out of the Marawi siege safe and relatively unharmed while fighting against terrorism. After 2 long years apart, the long-awaited reunion between the soliders finally happened and the men couldn’t be happier.

Just like the other heroes who served alongside them during the Marawi City siege the Garcia Brothers remained focused in their mission – serving as the vanguard for the innocents caught in the indiscriminate violence within the city.

All of them were graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA). In fact, Melvin was a Philippine Air Force pilot, Gerson was a scout ranger, and George Bernard was a troop of the Philippine Army.
