Perhaps the essence of being parents is raising the children of their own. As for the married couple named Roy Rogers and Bernita Rogers, this is exactly what they dreamed after they got married. However, a series of unfortunate events denied their chance of becoming parents three times.
With respect to what they’ve been through, the married couple decided to stop trying to become parents. All the unbearable heartbreaks brought by the miscarriages kept them from trying again.
Then once upon a time, a bewildered kitten found it’s way at the home of the Rogers. Thinking of it as an opportunity, they wholeheartedly welcomed the stray kitten into their private, sad life.
They named the black cat ― Midnight!
Since adopting Midnight, they knew that the black cat was not your ordinary household feline. Whilst most people consider black cats as a dark omen to come, Roy and Bernita believed Midnight was a lucky charm
To further emphasize this argument, Bernita successfully became pregnant this time. Stacey Rogers was the result of this miracle.
Just like the other protective parents, Roy and Bernita always looked out for Stacey. As most busy parents do, they installed a baby monitor beside her crib while she was sleeping.
Then one day, Bernita put Stacey in her crib for nap time in order to wait for her incoming visitors in the living room. However, Midnight immediately rushed to her. Little did she know, this gesture made by Midnight turned out to be a distress signal that there was something wrong happening to Stacey.
A few moments later, Bernita heard an unusual sound coming from the monitor. At this point, Bernita rushed swiftly into Stacey’s nursery. She then figured out that Midnight was making the noise.
In the end, Stacey, who had turned blue by the time Bernita got to the crib, was immediately brought to the hospital, Luckily, she was safe. All thanks to a luck black cat named Midnight.
