Are you familiar with the very famous term ‘samgyupsal’? Even if you are not, I bet you have at least heard of it once. ‘Samgyupsal’ is the colloquial term we use to refer to the Korean barbecue grill joints that are the hottest choice of people these days.
Surely, the rise of the Korean culture through their pop music and binge-worthy dramas have contributed to the feverish desire of people to eat at these samgyupsal joints. People are even willing to line up for hours just to get a taste of the samgyupsal, as well as the experience of eating it like how they do in Korean dramas.
This trend led to the quick rise of many Korean barbecue joints in the metro. Left and right, you will spot one Korean restaurant that offers unlimited samgyupsal sets. It is impossible to say no to the offers, right?
Former Eat Bulaga dancer Mia Pangyarihan hopped onto the trend and built her very own unlimited yakiniku restaurant. Yoshimeatsu was an idea born out of current demand for grill joints, and now it has become a reality for the dancer.
“Naisip ko itong business ko early this year, parang nauso kasi diba ang mga Korean restaurant? Tapos every other day, lagi akong nasa Korean restaurants. Tapos naisip ko lang na, ‘parang gusto ko magtayo ng ganito.’ Kasi nakikita ko ‘yung pila, ‘yung pasensya ng tao na maghintay nang mahabang oras, at isa din ako sa mga nakikipila doon,” Mia shared how she thought of starting up the business.

This is not exactly a new venture for the former dancer. Yoshimeatsu is actually the second ‘baby’ of Mia. However, this does not mean that running the yakiniku restaurant is any easier.
The new restaurateur shared her worries on starting the business, “Pinakamahirap na journey ng business siguro ‘yung pag hire ng tao na mapagkakatiwalaan mo.”
Since it is a food-centered venture, she wanted to ensure the quality of ingredients that will be served to her customers. “Tapos ‘yung paghahanap mo ng mga tamang supplier kasi dapat may quality ang mga ibibenta natin para sa mga customers, and quality din ang service na ibibigay natin.”
Running two in-demand businesses must be very exhausting, but Mia does not mind at all. According to her, she thoroughly enjoys it, “Sobra akong nag-eenjoy sa bagong journey na ito sa buhay ko. ‘Yung stress, na-eenjoy ko, ‘yung pagod.”
Would you be trying out Yoshimeatsu any time soon?
